Year 7: Burger and Potato Wedges

Potato wedges:

        2 large potatoes

        Salt and pepper

200g minced meat usually beef, but can be anything of your choosing

        Half an onion

        1 tablespoon fresh breadcrumbs

        Salt and pepper

        Potato wedges

1.     Switch on oven to 200 degrees. Put a pan of salted water to boil.

2.     Wash potatoes and cut into wedges. Add to pan and parboil for 5 minutes.

3.     Strain potatoes using colander. Spread out on flat baking tray. Sprinkle with oil, salt and peppers.

4.     Bake in the oven until golden and fluffy, whilst you make your burger.

5.     Peel and finely chop onion and put in bowl with rest of ingredients. Take a small amount of your burger mix and cook to check seasoning. If you are satisfied, then divide into equal balls and flatten slightly to form your burgers.

6.     Cook in frying pan or under grill until brown on both sides.

7.     Serve in a bun with salad or cheese slice and the potato wedges.
