Working in pairs choose to prepare, cook and taste a cheese and onion OR tuna crisp bake.

Year 8: Crisp Bakes

Dice

Ingredients:

        1x160g tinned tuna OR 150g mature cheddar cheese

        2 large potatoes

        25g butter

        1 spring onion

        1 egg

        3 slices of bread or 60g crumb

        Salt and pepper, 3-4 tablespoons

        Flour, oil to fry

Method:

1.     Wash, peel and cut potatoes into smaller size. Put potatoes in a saucepan with some salt. Bring to the boil and then simmer until potatoes are soft but not falling apart.

2.     Frain mash potatoes, add butter, taste, add any more salt and pepper if needed.

3.     Dice spring onions and stir into mashed potato.

4.     Drain liquid from tin of tuna OR cut cheese into cubes, add to potato mix. Shape into round burger sized cakes. Put in fridge for 5-10 minutes to firm.

5.     In a shallow bowl crack egg and mix with a fork. In another bowl put flour.
