Homework Task - Assembling Components

 

After completing this extension task you will be able to: -

 

*      Add components

*      Align components

*      Mate components

*      Fix components

*      Center axis

Before starting this task you will need to download the components into you work area. Download components

 

 

 

*      Open a new design in Pro desktop

 

*      Go to assembly Add component

 

*      Locate the Lego folder and select base.

 

*      Click the right mouse button while the base is selected and select Fix component. (This stops the base moving when you add the other components)

Go to assembly Add component then select Slope.des

 

*      Go to select then faces

 

*      Select the right edge of the slope

 

*      Holding the sift key select the right edge of the base (front as you see it)

 

*      Then go to assembly then align

 

 

This will then turn the slope around so it is facing to the right with the edges lined up.

 

*      Then select the front edge of the Slope

 

*      Hold shift and select the front edge of the base

 

*      Then go to assembly then align

 

 

*      Then select the underside of the slope

 

*      Hold shift then select the top of the base

 

*      Then go to assembly then Mate

 

Go to assembly Add component then select 4,1 deep.des

 

*      Select the long edge of the red piece and the right edge of the base and align

 

*      Select the back of the slope and the short edge of the red piece and mate

 

*      Select the top of the base and the underside of the red piece and mate

Then gradually build up the truck adding the pieces in this order

*      4,1 deep.des again

 

*      2,1 deep.des twice

 

*      Clear. Des

Note: When the component is added you may want to move it initially by dragging it across the screen to a more convenient place.

After this you must then go to select then faces or icon

 

 

 

*      Then 4,1 deep.des twice

 

*      4,1 shallow.des three times

 

 

 

*      Use the arrow keys to rotate the design so you can see the underside

*      Now add the wheel base to the underside of the base.

*      Mate the top of the wheel base and the underside of the base

*      Align the side edges

*      Mate the edges shown

*      Add the other wheel base like above

*      Add the wheel and axil.

*      Select the face of the axil

*      Holding shift select the hole the axil goes through

*      Then go to assembly and center axis

 

*      Select any part of the right hand side of the vehicle

 

*      Hold shift and select the outside of the wheel

 

*      Then align

 

*      Now repeat for the back wheels
